Been a while for Blogging

It’s been ages since I last blogged and I have been quite busy. My Grandbean Callum arrived on November the 25th & so I have been busy helping my daughter adjust and stopping all those with good intentions offering unwanted advice. its all meant in good faith but at a time when you go from being only responsible for yourself and then having to adjust to being responsible for a baby it can get a bit overwhelming.

So the cot bumper was finally finished, and it was a labour of love. Tatty Ted & cute stuff is not my thing, and its been a struggle to finish what to me is a boring subject. But it was done, its a one off gift that has held me up for the best part of a year.

Its now in its new home, along with Callum’s bear.

New Project–Sweet memories quilt.

this is a new project for me, I'm good with quilting although I am trying to conquer my sewing machine.

This quilt is made of 4 main blocks with little dresses appliqued to them each with an individual embroidery on the dress.

There is also a matching Pillow & Rag dolly.

This is block 2 Amanda in progress. Embroidery done, just needs lace edging gathering and appliqueing to pink block.

Tatty ted Afghan Pt. 8

I have been working hard on the afghan, its a project that really drags on for me, but with hardly any time left now I can’t pick it up & put it down.

Suffice to say I am sick to the back teeth with it. I have brought the backing fabric- Doctors cloth or wool Flannel, & have also made a blankie so that I could practice binding, which didn't turn out too bad. Just need to buy the wadding and I'm good to go at least on making up the afghan. I still need to buy some backing for the cot bumper.

George The Bear

 George - for sandy 2

I ordered some toosh tags, when they arrived they were awful, so I made my own to use on my bears.

Hand made toosh tag.

George will be going to his new home tomorrow.

TT Afghan Part 6 A flower for you

Well, I am now halfway through on this project. Here is a flower for you and a view of the afghan at the half way point.

Its not my usual subject and although I am enjoying the stitching, the colours really are starting to grate, I hope I never see Grey again!.
