Teeny Tiny Bear

I recently turned my hand to making a miniature bear, 1 .5 Inch high. I found it difficult to turn the upholstery fabric so I will have to find a softer alternative, perhaps some kind of suedette for future bears.

This teeny Tiny bear, was sent off on a bear exchange with some stitchy friends, the recipient, Candy loved him.

Home Sweet Home Update

It’s has been a while since I last worked on Home Sweet Home Work box, but yesterday I picked it back up again and really enjoyed it.

I was working on a caterpillar & snail, the Caterpillar was a 30 wrap bullion knot, it was somewhat of a nightmare, I am not quite happy with all the colours on this project but it will do for me as Its just going to be my work box.

I then worked on the snail, this was most interesting, the shell is 2 pieces of felt appliqued to the ground fabby and worked with ladder stitch, raised chain stitch and raised button hole stitch, it didn't turn out that bad actually even if I do say so myself.

I am still working on the side panel, so will post a WIP photo when this wall is done.

Snowman Stocking

I am now working on a new HAED – Ruth Sanderson’s snowman in stocking form, this will be for Callum for his 1st Christmas. As he will be 1 by then, he will be old enough to participate.

The idea for this stocking is that it is something he can grow up with and will last him a lifetime.

The original

I started this on 3rd Feb., on the 14th I finished page 1

I hope this won’t take that long as there are other things I want to be getting on with.

Long Time No Blog

Its been a long time since I last blogged. But I have completed Peddler.

Peddler finished 2 feb 2013

Over 7 months of work, not including the break I took to do daughters wedding flowers and the afghan & cot bumper for the baby.

I enjoyed stitching this piece, the colours were nice and even though I am well in to the next project, i still miss peddler.

The next job for peddler is washing, blocking, drying & framing but I shall do this nearer Christmas.

Been a while for Blogging

It’s been ages since I last blogged and I have been quite busy. My Grandbean Callum arrived on November the 25th & so I have been busy helping my daughter adjust and stopping all those with good intentions offering unwanted advice. its all meant in good faith but at a time when you go from being only responsible for yourself and then having to adjust to being responsible for a baby it can get a bit overwhelming.

So the cot bumper was finally finished, and it was a labour of love. Tatty Ted & cute stuff is not my thing, and its been a struggle to finish what to me is a boring subject. But it was done, its a one off gift that has held me up for the best part of a year.

Its now in its new home, along with Callum’s bear.

Afghan finished.
